Programme Overview
The recent floods across Sivasagar, Charaideo and Jorhat have severely affected thousands of families, damaging homes, crops, livestock and livelihoods. Sayanant Development Foundation (SDF) is responding through a two-stage approach—providing immediate humanitarian assistance followed by long-term livelihood restoration. Our goal is not only to help families survive this disaster but also to support them in rebuilding sustainable and dignified lives.
Emergency Situation
Once emergency relief is completed, SDF will support farming communities, livestock owners, small businesses and vulnerable households by providing agricultural inputs, livestock assistance, livelihood resources, enterprise recovery support and income restoration initiatives.

Immediate Needs
Immediate donations will be used to provide food and dry ration kits, clean drinking water, sanitation support, emergency medicines, hygiene kits, clothing, temporary shelter materials and other essential relief items for flood-affected families.

Phase 1 Flood Relief Distribution Completed
More than 200 vulnerable families across four flood-affected villages received essential relief support.
The first phase of Sayanant Development Foundation's Assam Flood Relief initiative successfully reached 200+ vulnerable families across Banmukh Chetia Village, Charing Na Pam Khanikar Gaon, Khanamukh Khutorahabi, and Napam Balijan in Sivasagar District.
With the support of the entire Sayanant team, dedicated field volunteers, local coordinators, and generous donors, families received ration kits, hygiene supplies, and emergency shelter materials. This relief operation was driven by teamwork, compassion, and a shared commitment to helping those most affected by the floods.
As relief efforts continue, SDF remains committed to extending support to both flood-affected people and voiceless animals, ensuring assistance reaches those who need it most.

SDF Continues Its Commitment to Flood-Affected Communities of Sivasagar District
Sayanant Development Foundation (SDF) continues to support flood-affected communities in Sivasagar District through phased relief and recovery initiatives. After providing essential supplies, livestock support and educational materials, SDF is now moving towards livelihood restoration for vulnerable families.
From Immediate Relief to Livelihood Restoration — Continuing the Journey Towards Recovery and Resilience
SDF’s relief initiative goes beyond distributing essential supplies. So far, SDF has supported 454 households and 100 students across six villages: Nimaijaan, Delihi Gohain Gaon, Kothu-Asola Gaon, Hathi Kuli, Sontali Siga Gaon and Dekhial Kawoimari Gaon.
The upcoming phase will focus on restoring the livelihoods of selected vulnerable families significantly affected by the floods. Appropriate support will be provided to help them restart and strengthen their sources of income, regain economic stability and become more resilient to future challenges.
SDF remains committed to standing beside affected communities throughout their journey—from immediate relief to recovery and a more secure, self-reliant future.
